So I received my Tecsun PL-380 radio last Friday. I immediately turned it on and was disappointed. I could only find two channels on the shortwave band. So I did a little research and found out that the best times to listen to shortwave is at night and early morning on weekends.
Friday night didn’t really pan-out that much, I only received about four channels and the channels I received were extremely hard to hear with all of the static.
However, Saturday night I was able to get twenty four channels and it was awesome. I could hear some of them really good but most were just very static. I could tell that one channel was all the way from Cuba, and it was pretty cool. Others were from Mexico and all over the US.
So it was really fun to listen al these shortwave stations, Sunday I could only get about four stations though.
On a side-note, the MW or AM stations came in really well during the day and night. Started listening to Coast to Coast, lol, what a weird channel that is. EWTN came in really well too on the AM.
Glad I bought the new radio, it has a relaxing experience listening to it. And I like the fact that it unplugs me from the Internet as well. And now I can’t wait for the next weekend, hehe. But I will be trying out the radio through-out this week.
Hope you all have a great week!
